I have been to the White Mountains of Arizona before, and didn't care for them. But why? There are snow-capped peaks, well into summer. There are ponderosa forests at 7000-8000 feet. You can camp even higher. Maybe I just needed to look closer.

My trip through Springerville and Alpine was just to find the Verizon towers. I did so, and was amazed to get broadband fifteen miles away! Now, all of a sudden, I liked the area.

All too often a full-time RVer watches with dismay as one of his little valentine towns gets popular. A new town has to take its place. I'm really pleased to develop an interest in Springerville, altitude 7000 feet. It's just the right size, doesn't appear to be booming, and has a old-fashioned western ambiance, which I like.

Close to Springerville I found a fine boondocking campsite that was at the intersection of grass, pinyon-juniper forest and ponderosa forest. We had panoramic views and wind protection at the same time.

They took down some mighty ponderosas once upon a time.

Normally I don't use the terms 'motorhead' or 'motor-crazed yahoo' as compliments. But as long as I'm enjoying being wrong today, here's another example. Look at this little terror, named Kaylee. Six pounds of pure attitude. With little darlin's like this, maybe ATVs aren't so bad!

I wonder if other bloggers have noticed the internet gods punishing them for things that they say? This even seems to work in reverse. Recently I was praising the wind. I am tired of hearing people complain about it, as if there weren't some advantages to wind.

Late afternoon, yesterday, I took the dogs out for their business. Coffee Girl was taking her own sweet time about it. I was relieved to finally see her assume the position. There, just a few inches from ground zero, was a freshly minted twenty dollar bill that had apparently blown there with all the litter.

I wonder what would happen if I started saying nice things about women?
