The triple point where the tail end of the Great Rift Valley meets the rift that is the Red Sea is a fascinating if scary spot chockablock full of volcanoes, fumaroles & assorted other fire manifestations. They've got a new one going off currently. And after this post, I must ask if you've read McPhee's Annals of the Former World, which was one of my more interesting reads of the past couple of years.
